COURT BUILDING PROJECTS

1. New Kota Kinabalu Court Complex, Sabah

The new Kota Kinabalu Court Complex is being built at the moment on a 6.25 acres land on Jalan Shariff Osman off Jalan Kolam in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This project that was approved in the 10th Malaysia Plan (Rancangan Malaysia ke-10) involves the construction of a new building that includes 16 courtrooms which are divided into one Federal Court, three High Courts, six Session Courts and six Magistrate Courts. This project which commenced on 22 July 2014 was planned to take about 30 months to complete and is expected to finish on 1 April 2017.

2. New Kangar Court Complex, Perlis

The new Kangar Court Complex in Perlis, is being built on a 9 acres of land in Sub-district Seriab, Kangar. This project that was approved in the 10th Malaysia Plan (Rancangan Malaysia ke-10) involves the construction of a new building that includes five courtrooms which are divided into one High Court, two Session Court, and two Magistrate Court. This project undergoes two phases:

    1. Phase I (Land Works)
    2. Phase II (Infrastructure Works)

The first phase of the project (land works) have been completed on 28 February 2016. The second phase (infrastructure works) which is expected to commence on 17 October 2016, is planned to take 26 months to complete, ending on 8 December 2018.

3. New Tapah Courthouse, Perak

The new Tapah Courthouse in Perak is being built on a 4.9 acres of land in Sub-district Batang Padang, Perak. This project that was approved in the 10th Malaysia Plan (Rancangan Malaysia ke-10) involves the construction of a new building that includes two courtrooms divided into one Session Court; and one Magistrate Court. This project that commenced on 22 March 2016 is planned to take 24 months until completion ending on 19 March 2018.

4. New Kota Bharu Court Complex, Kelantan

The new Kota Bharu Court Complex in Kelantan is being built on a 6.73 acres of land in Sub-district Kota of Kota Bharu, Kelantan. This project that was approved in the Tenth Malaysia Plan (Rancangan Malaysia ke-10) involves the construction of a new building that includes 13 courtrooms divided into three High Courts, five Session Courts and five Magistrate Courts. This project that commenced on 2 June 2016 is planned to take 48 months until completion ending on 1 June 2020.
